“But life it ain’t real funky, Unless it’s got that pop.”
-Pop Life written by Prince Rodgers Nelson
We interrupt our regularly scheduled blog post to pay homage to Prince Rodgers Nelson. One of the most amazingly talented and prolific artist in music history. Although M’habiller is a style commentary that aims to encourage women through dialog that’s hopefully informative, humorous, and uplifting, this week post is all about the man of style who was a Prince among men. Prince’s style, as we all know, was a little unconventional in the world of menswear. Real talk, what man do you know could do a split in high heel boots, dance better in them than Beyonce, wore bottomless chaps, lace, make-up and still made women swoon? He offered us a ride in his Little Red Corvette and took us down Alphabet Street, Paisley Park, and to The Cross (my personal favorite). He gave us a Raspberry Beret, and Diamonds and Pearls. He confirmed You got the look and made us feel like the most Beautiful Girl in the World. And when all was said and done, he allowed us to bathe in his Purple Rain. Now I could go on and on about this musical gift given to us by God but i’m sure I’d be telling you things you already know. So I’ll take my leave with this, Prince you were the sonic boom heard all over the world and now the world seems a little less amazing without you in it. Goodnight sweet Prince, you’re reign will be missed by all.
Well said!….
Fitting tribute. Prince was funky and fashionable.
