Baby it’s Cold Outside

  • Divas, the time has come for Old Man Winter to make his seasonal rounds and he’s bringing his roll dogs: slippery ice, knee-deep snow, and bone chilling winds along for the ride. This week post is all about putting together a fabulous winter wonder look that can go toe to toe with the hawk. While looking into outerwear, I discovered scores of beautiful coats in a variety of fabrics. With that said, I’ve listed the four best fabrics for outerwear. Wool is a textile fiber taken from specific ruminant animals and is considered as one of the best fabrics for coats. Cashmere is also a woolen fabric but can be pricey, delicate, and requires a higher degree of care than wool.   Nylon is a dense synthetic heat trapping fabric typically used as an outer layer for down jackets (think puffer coats).  Leather is a tightly structured natural fabric that may require a heavy lining for times when tempts are low. Conversely, faux leather may be a better option for the diva who prefer fabrics from non-animal sources. So consider these little pearls of wisdom, should you find yourself in a quandary as to which coat will best help you brace for a rough winter ahead because comfort and warmth is the number one priority when it’s cold outside.
