Some divas buy high while others buy low but everyone loves a good deal. This week post tackles the loaded question, how do you know when you’ve gotten a good deal? Most divas (as well as myself) typically associates a good deal with a low price but all too often these so-called deals end up taking permanent residency in a trash bag instead of a closet. Think about it, buying five dresses for $200.00 bucks (excluding sales and clearance items) sounds like a steal until you’re back in the malls or online six months later spending more money on replacing dresses bought six months ago. This happens when there is too much focus on price, and not enough towards the quality of the garment. See in the apparel industry it’s the fabric, not the brand name, that drives cost. The better the material, the more the designer pays, the higher the cost to the consumer. Now I’m not advocating paying ridiculously high prices for apparel. But, paying closer attention to the durability of the wears will help determine if the purchase is a gamble or an investment. Because it ain’t all about prices and name brands, but about getting the most bang for your hard- earned buck when shopping in a material world.
