As a kid growing up in the south, I was taught that a lady had to be very careful about how she wore red because for some unknown reason it was always associated with a Jezebel ( aka a THOT for you younger cats). But this week post endeavors to do a deeper dive into how other cultures see red. Turns out, a large portion of the global perspective associates the color of crimson with positive attributes such as courage, love, and abundance. For example in Sweden, red represents privileged. In China, red delineates good luck and fortune. To the Hindu, red symbolizes joy and energy. In the Christian religion, red represents life. And although research indicates too much red can invoke aggression, studies also shows that this vibrant hue, in moderation, stimulates the brain, increases metabolism, and heart rate which makes it a great color to wear when exercising. So I strongly encourage you to lay aside the myths and visualize power, courage, abundance, and love the next time you see red.
