Velvet Underground (Curvy Girl Included)

Image result for plus size girl in velvetIt’s about to be fall ya’ll so you know what that means. Time to break out the heavier fabrics that suited for a transitional season. Fabrics light enough to keep you warm and comfy for this time of year without being beat back the hawk heavy.  Velvet, in my opinion is one, is on of those “go to” fabrics that can get you through both fall and winter. A quick history lesson from www.startupfashion.com. Though it has a strong association with European nobility, it is  commonly believed that the luxurious fabric got it’s roots from   Eastern culture. Cairo was one of the first production hub of velvet. Eventually, Italy would get into the game and become the leading supplier of velvet in Europe. The technique to create it was so complex and time-consuming that it was an extremely high-end luxury good, available only to royalty and the very rich. But now, the price of velvet is much more affordable, available and perfect style for transitional seasons. So if you’re wondering what to feature for the fall, consider stomping the streets in velvet.
